Ice Hockey Hall of Fame - the center of the (North American) Ice Hockey universe.
Tall skyscrapers in CBD...
...and huge malls inside the buildings.
Hey! Excellent choice of a chocolate shop! (y)
...but first, let me take that ferry and head over to the Toronto Islands, a rather close and nice archipelago in Lake Ontario.
Skyline (y) (and an idea is growing...)
some of the millions of canadian geese...
Skyline - again. But wait, what's this?
Oh! A Dash 8 of Porter Airlines on finals for Toronto City airport!
...even smaller traffic coming in low...
Skyline - again... leaving the islands with another idea...
Here it is: the CN Tower, this 553m tall building is Toronto's landmark since 1975 and held several records until the 2000's. It is visited by 2Mio. visitors annually. Let's make this +1.
Wow the convertible Rogers arena offering a nice american football game (Toronto Blue Jays won!)
Billy Bishop Airport by night, seen from CN tower.
CN tower from the Bobbie Rosenfeld Park (south) side.
Deliberately booked the Radisson Admiral Harbourfront hotel with a nice pool terrace and good views on airport traffic ;) (long lens required, my 280mm proved too short)
Trams, Bike lanes, waterfront promenade - Toronto has it all. And it's sweet water!!
Strolling through the lush and colorful "Music Garden" on Spadina Quay, heading to...
...the Airport island. Walked into a flight school, asked for a trial flight (given I was current in Canada) and...
...1h later I was airborne with an Indian FI on the right seat and a Skyhawk under my bum...
We agreed he'd be doing half of the flying and I'd be doing all the pics.
Bluffer's Sand Beach ahead :-)
Bluffer's Park and Scarborough Yacht Clubs...
Cruising altitude: 2000ft. Only a tad above the CN tower's top!
Short finals (FI flies) allowing for a great skyline shot...
Port Lands view on the upwind leg to the East
Right hand downwind for 08.
Former crosswind runway, today a parking spot for Dash-7 aircraft from Israel!
Life can't get any better than this... great views on final 08!
Back on firm grounds, starting my city stroll at the Fairmont Royal York, 1600 rooms and the choice of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth when in Canada.
