A great autumn hike in a special setting…
Starting in Scuol at the stables of San Jon Ranch, then heading southbound to S-Charl and passing Tamangur forest and Alp Astras, crossing the Pass da Costainas, followed by a steep descent into Val Mustair and the village of Tschierv.
The next day started off with stunning and crisp blue skies. The horses were readied while I started off on my own feet. Ascending through Plaun da l’Aua and Alp da Munt, passing over Fuorcla da Funtana S-Charl (2’393m AMSL), before descending in their wake back to Alp Astras, S-Charl and Scuol.
A nice group and it was great fun all along! Please forgive me, but as a hiker I had to cheat slightly and take the car from/to S-Charl. Pictures „on-horse“ taken by Michèle.
